Privacy Policy

What we collect, and why

Email address — only if you ask for the free Fan Country Test or otherwise subscribe. We use it to deliver the guide and send our email letters (a short welcome series, then roughly one note per week when a new film goes up). That's the whole use. We don't sell, rent, or share your email with advertisers, ever.

Purchase information — if you buy a guide, the transaction happens on Gumroad, Inc.'s platform. Gumroad processes your payment details under its own privacy policy; we see the email and order details needed to deliver the product and honor refunds. We never see or store your card details.

Basic technical data — our hosting provider (Netlify, Inc.) and email service (MailerLite) log standard technical information (such as IP address and browser type) to serve pages and emails and to prevent abuse, under their own policies. We don't run advertising trackers on this site.

Your choices and rights

Every email we send has a one-click unsubscribe that works immediately. You can also ask us at any time to show you, correct, or delete the data we hold about you (which is, in almost every case, just your email address and what you've downloaded or bought) — reply to any email from us and we'll handle it. Depending on where you live (for example the EU/UK under GDPR, or California under CCPA), these rights are also yours by law; we honor them regardless of where you live.

Retention

Subscriber emails are kept while you're subscribed and removed from our active list when you unsubscribe. Purchase records are retained as required for accounting and refund handling.

Children

This site and our emails are intended for adults; we don't knowingly collect information from children under 16.

Changes & contact

If this policy changes materially, the date above changes and significant changes get a mention in the email letter. Questions or requests: reply to any email from us, or reach us via the Gumroad store or the YouTube channel's about page.
