Terms, Refunds & Disclaimers

Last updated: August 8, 2026 · Written in plain English on purpose.

Who we are

Old Ways Restored ("we," "us") publishes educational films and written guides about traditional home cooling and efficiency methods, at oldwaysrestored.com and on YouTube. By using this site or purchasing our guides you agree to these terms.

What you're buying

Our paid product is a digital PDF guide (currently: The Passive Cooling Vault). Purchases and payment processing are handled by Gumroad, Inc., whose own terms and privacy policy apply to the transaction. You receive a personal-use license: read it, print it for your own household, keep it forever. Please don't redistribute, resell, or post it publicly — it's how the research stays funded and the films stay free of sponsors.

The refund policy, plainly

If the Vault isn't useful to your house, reply to any email from us — or contact us through Gumroad — within 30 days of purchase and we refund it, without argument, and you keep the book. We hold ourselves to this because the whole brand is built on honest verdicts; a refund request will never be met with a retention script.

Educational content, not professional advice

Everything we publish — free or paid — is general education, not professional, engineering, legal, or financial advice. Homes are individual. Anything involving electrical wiring, gas appliances, refrigerant, structural openings, roof work, or excavation should be confirmed with a qualified local professional before work begins, and local building codes always outrank anything in our guides. If you smell gas or a carbon-monoxide alarm sounds: leave first, call professionals from outside.

About the numbers

Costs quoted in our materials are typical U.S. retail figures from the time of writing and drift with markets. Savings figures are conditioned estimates — drawn from U.S. Department of Energy guidance, published measurements, and homeowner reports — and are labeled as ranges or modeled values. They are planning estimates, not promises: your climate, your house, your utility rates, and your own work decide your actual results, and no specific outcome is guaranteed.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Old Ways Restored assumes no liability for injury, damage, or loss resulting from work undertaken based on our content. You act on it at your own risk and judgment. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

The website

We try to keep the site accurate and available but provide it "as is," without warranties. We may update these terms; the date above changes when we do. Material changes to the refund policy will never apply retroactively to an existing purchase.
